It was a perfectly calm morning, the flames went 50 yards high. It heat the dwelling here verry hot if there had been any Wind or are a stur the whole buildings would not have possably been saved
March Sat 14 Capt Wheeler came sick & stayed until Sunday the Capt Monday
Capt Wheeler left Mon 6 April
Majr Wheeler stayed all nigh of the 1st Apl
March Sun 15 Whitaker came stay until Wednesday 18, came back & stayed all night upon his return to Miss abt 16 Apl
March 27 Friday morning my horse Jim was taken out of the Stable where he was put up in near the kitchen yard I have no doubt he is stolen
28 Sent Mat to Pulaski to hunt my horse heard nothing of him came home Monday 30th March. (gone no doubt)
1863 Apl the 5th [hand pointing] Sunday the small pox soldiers 2 of them came with there guns to the spring but had to leave without getting any Watter.
