to Granville he is some easier this morning left Medicine & prescription (he is verry dangerous of Typhoid fever)
Adaline also sick

1863 Tu 4th - James W. B. Thomas commenced with all this hands this morning to git out our Wheat It is verry much damaged by the heavey rains.

[hand pointing] We had 110 bushels of Wheat when it was all cleaned out

[along left margin:] Granville died
The Doctors Pillow & Akin came in time this morning to see the last of Granville - - he died this morning 8 ½ oclock of Tyfords fever. he has never been well since he was taken off by the Southern soldiers in Christmas weak. He was carried to Murphresborough & from that to Tulahoma with verry thin Cloathes & no blankets. He has never seen a well day since some times better & some times worse. The weather was verry cold & he got away from them & lay out & was out 17 days It was the cause of his death

Adaline sick
There are no reliable news that is passing. Extremely warm in the forepart of the day. Much thunder in the evening. The ground is covered with Watter (Adaline a little better)
