better rested bad through the night.
The sun rose tolerable clear but a small shower of rain fell about 11 oclock & passed off with but little rain.
There are nothing recd from the night before All appears so far as heard from to be quiet -

Mon 10th. No news from teh night before only many of the blacks are leaveng there Masters. Mr Ranken J. Perry J.B.Pillow Barkley Martens Coopers & others all have left for parts unknown.
I got 8 bushels of Barley & am sowing it in the 4 ½ acre piece of Corn South of the little Orchard I got the Barley of S. P. McGan at $2.00 pr bushel, & paid for it $16.00

Tu 11th. Mary & her 2 little daughters came & stayed all night last night Went home & came back to Jas Allens, & her A. M. Hughs left for Nashville on Wed the 12th. & Mat drove the Berush for them
W. J. Porter & Williams Esqr came & stayed all night last night (Monday night) went to Columbia to day returned & stayed Tuesday night & returned to Lawrence Wed 12th. --
[hand pointing] I went to Columbia to day Tu 11th for the 1st time in 4 or 5 Months.
Much grape vine news some street fighting with Mullen & Boyd in which Mullen was shot in the rump The Citizens wished them both good luck while they were fighting

1863 11 Augt. Tues 11th Continued William left for the barrens took George with the wool & Maryanns Wool & 2 horse Waggon for Williams
