Wed 12th No news that are reliable during the night Nothing all day that are interesting The day is clear and extremely hot Nothing new of importants Many negroes are leaving from every direction going to the North.

Th 13 Augt) We learn many negroes are leaving going North they pretend to be afraid that Forrests & Biffles Cavalry will take them to the South & they are reported to be on there way back to this place for that purpose The negores appears much alarmed.

Fri 14th No particular news of the last night only Granville A. Pillow lost 22 negores run off last night, with many others that have gone last night also James W. B. Thomas lost 2 negro men last night run off All things around me appears as yet quiet.
William got home together with J W B Thomas & his son from hunting about dark All the hunters got home so far as learned, safe , that went on last Tuesday

Sat. 15. No news that is receved this morning from last night, heavy thunder but little rain I learn that Maryann returned home [hand pointing] this evening from Nashville George returned from the factory
