Th Oct 15. It is still raining this morning quit about 8 o'clock We are trying to to get wood Several blacks a little unwell Read & press still broke down Sandford sick

1863 Oct. Th 15 The Fedrels came in to Columbia last night or this morning about 100 thaught to be of them. Commenced raining again about 12 o'clock (slowly) We are trying to hall wood planting our Onion buttons, &c We also planted two rose of Peach peeach stones across the lower end of the Onion patch The North roe is plum peach The South roe are this years peaches, & the North roe is the peaches of the year 1862

Rain It rained nearly all day & night No particular news of the night the Fedrels are keeping nearly all on town during the day & are reinforcing at night

1863 Friday Octr. 16th) There is no persons going the rode towards Town. Verry clear & calm every thing appears to be verry still this morning The heavy rains for several days have raised the Watters

(Fedrels) We learn the Fedrels have reinforced at Columbia this morning put out there guards, & giving passes From appearance they design to make this place headquarters for this time being.
Shoes) Jim is making shoes for Harriett. I went to Town got my pass Town. renewed They are commencing pressing the negroes to work on
