all day I met W. J. Porter to day in Pulaski he went with me on hunt of my horses. Heard nothing of them Stayed at Bufords as mentioned

Fri 27 I left Mr Bufords & found Olia in the 50th Illinoys regt South of Lynville Capt Robins press master had him He told me who had my Mule but did not know where they were Col Bane at Lynville informed me that they were in the 18th Ilinoys at Calioca I went there & found my Mule & got his & went from there to Henry Harris Esqr. & stayed all night it rained verry hard during the night.

Sat 28. I came home It rained I got home about 11 o'clock & stayed there all day

1863 Novr Sun 29) I stayed at home all day Not much interruption A heavy Waggon train passed some going North some South News of hard fighting at Chatanuga Genl Braggs Armey having give back towards Atalanta Ga. the Fedrels appears to be successful Took many prisoners & Arms Canon &c. This battle was fought the 25th or Nov inst & the succeeding days.

Mon. 30th I went to Town Considerable excitement Greenfields house burned down a considerable force of Genl Dodge Army camped South of Town near Vaughts.

Decr. 1st Tu I went to Town The Government Wagons still camped at Town the river being past fording The Fedrels report many prisoners taken the last battle (25th)
