George Hewitt & his brother & Three soldiers of Wildere Brigade Col Long rest & 5 fine horses camped & forraged on us all night going from Nashville to Chatanuga the 800 of them Camped at Looney lott

Wed 23 No particular news the wind changed to the North & has turned verry cold, & cloudy No particular news I stayed at home all day 5 men came & stayed all night, Segraves, Hewitt & others They have been in prison at Nashville & have been released & walked home they live in Giles & Lawrence. Much tired & broke down.

Th 24. Horse Government) I went to Town bought a government horse a dark bay verry large branded U.S. & C. 8 year old for $13 verry poore indeed
