Fedrels som Cavalary & some Infantry stayed at Columbia last night hunting hunting up all the Mules & horses. Some of Col. Munero men was here hunting Mules early this morning The soldiers encamped at the pawn burned up the fence half way to the field West. I stayed at home 2 officers came & stayed all night. The Regt was commanded by Col Nocs (Some of the men froze to death the next day on the cars to Nashville)

Thu 31 It rained last night & verry cloudy this morning Commenced rain 8 o'clock A. M. rained all day until evening Sleated and snowed, the Wind blew almost a storm from the North West at night every thing froze the coldest at night we have experienced for years stays at home all day No particular news.

This year is going off the last day in uniform with the whole year Greate distress & trouble at night the Wind blew almost a gale & verry cold Good by 1863 with all its numerous miseries and distresses We hope 1864 may be a hapy year
