from the West & still warm this morning. I went to Town this evening No verry particular news that is known to be true. It is verry warm

Sun 31st About 600 Cavalry Soldiers new recruits campt in Myne & Warfields Woods late last night they had a greate many Mules driving on with them to the South Two soldiers (Coon & [blank] ) eat supper They behaved verry well They are all a portion of Genl Wilders Command (It is a little Cloudy & warm The Wind from the South)

1864 Feby Mon 1st) It rained last night Clear this morning & some cooler. (I went to Town)
This day the meeting of the Citizens assembled in the Court house and was called to order by Joshua B Frierson being called to the Chair A Comity of 7 was appointed & drafted resolutions suitable to the occasion With regard to re-orgination of the State Government.

Powhatton Gordon A. M. Hues and Samuel Arnold adressed the Citizens The resolutions were adopted with not one decenting Voice The Meeting broke up verry harmoniously, with a feeling of those present to reoganize the State Government There was but few of those of the rebellion that were present All the leaders of the rebellion chose not to be present All the leaders of the rebellion chose not to be present upon this occasion Many of the Common people & most of the Loyall Citizens parcipitated in the Meeting
