all was well, I went to Town after dinner News the
Fedrels were defeated in N.C. Plymoth 2,000 prisoner &
many killed on both sides The Confederates got a greate many
Government stores Canon &c. The Confederates killed many
Negroes & captured the whole of the Fedrel forces at that place.

Wed 27 planting Jack
Beautiful weather All hands at work I went to Town in
the evening A regt. of Vitrons came in, Wilders. There are a
verry greate many soldiers here more than has been before. The
Plymith fight is Confered. We finished planting the field
next town Jack still in the gard house

1864 Apl Th 28 planting plowing Nathan W. J. Porter
It rained a verry pretty season last night We are plowing
in the Locust Hill field Still trying to do a little. I
stayed at home all day W.J. Porters boy Nathan came with
another boy from Pulaskie.

Fri 29th William & Margaret Cotton planted G Williams rained
It rained a little last night Cloudy this morning
William & Margaret went this morning fishing to Hugheys Mill.
We are trying to plant a patch of Cotton below the Orchard abt
3 or 4 Acres. George Williams (Soldier) of Wilders Brigade
stayed last evening for supper the same man was here the 18th
inst. It rain verry hard

Sat 30 Wilders Leaving
I went to Town & found that Wilders Brigade was all leav-
the Brigadeing by way of Shelbyville & Col Longs Regt 4th Ohio has came in.
