Sat 7 planting Puss Ack
I went to Town in the morning stayed until One Oclock
& come home. We finished planting the Glade lott field We
have give it to the blacks for there patches. The Small pox
cases all round Town is becoming verry alarming. Puss seems
to be slowing mending Ack has been verry bad off for several
days with her arm that is sore.

A verry pretty day Col Robee Lieut Robee & some one

Mon 9th May Court fighting Granberry Williams Esq
I went to Town The Circuit Court in session Greate
excitement The news of terable fighting in Virginia &
Georgia has drew a greate many people in Town to get the news.
Greate slaughter upon all sides Jack Porter together with
the Mair & Alderman was bailed to answer when called on in
the sum of $1000. each They was released from prison
J. M. Granberrys son John shot a soldier that was trying to
get in the house at 2 oclock at night John was taken up &
put in Jail When the gun fired the Yankeys left in a hurry
The one that was shot will probably recover (What a petty)
A. O. Williams Esqr came home & stayed with us all night &
until Wednesday
