Mon 9th May Court fighting Granberry Williams Esq
I went to Town The Circuit Court in session Greate
excitement The news of terable fighting in Virginia &
Georgia has drew a greate many people in Town to get the news.
Greate slaughter upon all sides Jack Porter together with
the Mair & Alderman was bailed to answer when called on in
the sum of $1000. each They was released from prison
J. M. Granberrys son John shot a soldier that was trying to
get in the house at 2 oclock at night John was taken up &
put in Jail When the gun fired the Yankeys left in a hurry
The one that was shot will probably recover (What a petty)
A. O. Williams Esqr came home & stayed with us all night &
until Wednesday
