is creating a good deal of excitement in the Nomination of Candidates
President & Vice President

Jas Akins Wife is verry bad off

Wed 31 William / Rebbles / Fight / A Calm
William went this morning in his bugga to Maryanns.
There is much excitement in Town to day No one is permitted to
pass the pickets or go to Town or come away The Rebbles are
said to be at Lewisbog (I have stayed at home) I have not
believed the report of the rebbles being so near tho there are
greate excitement all over the Country & a fight expected

9 oclock at night every thing calm & remarkable still
no noise no where No news only the pickets are at the tall
gates 2 miles from Town. No soldiers have passed the rodes any
where to day a perfect calm every way & no body astir & no body
at work or doing any thing I have not been able to get any papers
or news (I think it all a false alarm) We will see, the pickets
will not let any one pass going or coming to Town & are keeping
several under gard, where they are on picket. (I stayed at home)

Th 1st Sept Self / William / A. O. Williams
The morning is clear & verry calm and a little cool No
news from the previous night I was a little unwell through the
night.

One oclock P.M. Clear & a perfect calm. No news. No one
astir every thing perfectly still & nothing doing No one passing
Neither Citizen or Soldier William & A O Williams came at 5 P.M.
