A. Pillow & myself went to our Cedars to try & save of them
what we can for it appears the Citizens, Soldiers & Negroes
are halling them off to Town for fire Wood until they wont
be any left in a short time I met with Mary & Thomas in Town

It commenced raining about day light this morning - &
has rained nearly all day We have got no particular news

Th 27th Octr / rain / Stealing / Adaline
It rained nearly all night verry slowly turned warm in
the night Nothing doing Raids for Corn & hay continually
passing all through to Country taking what little has been
raised & paying but little or nothing for it, taking all the
horses & Mules they can get if they can get them without
there being known who they are. Greate trouble amongst the
Citizens Adaline had a girl child at 10 oclock A.M. to day -

I got 3 barrels of Salt from Nashville to day Ban
Jordan halled it $11.00 per barrel & $5.00 each for halling
