1846 March 4th, very pretty day over head Went this day with Mr. J D Hunt to see Mr Jesse Pitts waggon which I bot of Mr Hunt who takes the waggon from Pitts & let me have it complete for the sum of $41.50 with this understanding I pay Principal & Interest when convenient to me he Mr Hunt gives me several years to pay for it by paying Int
5th Beautiful day over head Phil cutting up Logs for fire wood alse & Henry halling out manure on Potatoe Patch Fed making 2 pr shoes for Lucy Ann children this day —
6. Thrashing out oats, Henry went after a Load of wheat straw to Mrs Hunts.
7. Went after waggon to Pitts, cutting up Trees on Branch fire wood - very pretty Weather over head Snow melted very much,
8. Snow nearly gone this second Sunday a beautifull day over Head —
9 Halling wood & Burning Log Heaps started 1 Hhd Lugs this day by Geo Bruce, he finds himself & I paying him ferrigage[ferriage] 4$ carriage 75¢ for fodder & he gets 4 Bushels corn in Lynchg at River which I have to Colo Smith to let

him Mr Bruce have the money,to pay forI have this day pd him for fodder 75 3/9 toll etc 9¢ of which he pays me back If he takes in another Hhd which he thinks of doing found Mr Bruce also 4 lb Bacon & 2 Gallons meal one Gallon meal to much —

11th Halling wood & Rails & Raking leaves in new ground, - Henry Plowing — my wife gone to Mrs Hunts—
12th Sent to Mill Malling on Branch for wood & Plowing for corn, raking & Pileing trash in new ground very pretty weather about this time Planted Irish Potatoe Patch & expect to cover it with leaves —
13 Rained nearly all night & this morning taking down our Tobacco that we have yet to strip, - weather moderate
14 Upsetting Corn field fence Henry Halling leaves to cover Irish Potato Patch very hard rain last night ground very wet Snow & hail all gone,
20th Plowing for corn Fed making Britching Fill Halling wood sewed Peas & Planted Onions Lila sewing oats this week Rolled Logs on Branch & sent 2 hands to Mrs Hunts square in Garden, —
21st Very pretty day Burnt & sewed sallet Bed - Balance Plowing & Halling wood.
