To the honorable, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Seattle. Gentlemen: Liquor is being sold in the International Hotel and the St Paul Lodging House, upon Lots two and three, Block Three, Boren and Denny's plat of the town (now city) of Seattle, without the consent, written or unwritten, of the owner of said premises. The members of you honroable body certainly must be aware of this flagrant violation of the law, and so must theChief of Police or the City of Seattle. Your duty is so plain in the premises that a citizen should not be compelled to call your attention to the apparent privilege extended liquor sellers. Yours respectfully, H D Longaker Having examined the above we find that the portion referred to have a liquor license and a permit from the lessee of the premises and we would respectfully report that we have found no cause to interfere in the matter. Signed: C P Reitze James McCurndy
