Flower of C. barbatum foliage of C. Dayanum Stemless or with the stem a foot high. Leaves distichous nearly 1' long including the broad flattened sheath linear-elliptic acute, 2" broad, nearly flat, grooved down the centre in front, & keeled at the back, about 12 nerved, tessellated with bright greenish white & dull green. Scape longer than the leaves, flexuous. 1-2 flowered, clothed with long spreading glandular hairs as are the bract, ovary, & back of the sepals. Bract small, oblong, obtuse. Flower erect, upwards of 5" across the petals. & as much from the tip
