much depends on George, his elder brothers haveing families of their own. the family of which he has the care consists of his mother two sisters and a young brother. If the sentance of the court should be carried into effect it will be mortifying in the extreame to them, as well as George. In the general punishment is calculated to prevent crime, or a repetition of it in the present case, it will ^be unavailing for I feel otherised in saying that George Broyles will never resort to such harsh means again, except in self defence (if he ever did + If executive clemency could be extended consitent with your feelings coupled with your duty, It would be what a large portion of the people knowing to the circumstance would desire in this County
