Knoxville Jany 24th 1824 -

Dr Sir I was appinted [sic] Suruyor [sic] for the County of Anderson at the Last Session of the General Assembly and it being an interferance [sic] with some other Business I have to attend to; request that you will Receive this as my [declaration?] of excepting [sic] the appintment [sic] of [the?] [same?]

I am Sir with sentiments of Esteem yours &c-

Aron Stoven is recommend to succeed Mr [Kamey?] to whom be pleased to send a commission
