Paris 27th Oct 1827

Dear Sir

I received yours of the 1st Oct.. 1827 am duly gratified to learn, that you will have it in your power to prevent a division in my Brig,, it will be out of power to be up this session & no [?] & I send you a certificate &c

I John W Cooke Brg Genl of the 13th Brig, do certify that Thomas Gray my Brig. Mjr for the year 1826 attended 4 days and drilled at the county drills in my Brig, in said year, and Traveled 50 miles to and from said Drills, given under my hand at head quarters, Paris 29th October 1827.

I John W Cooke Brig,, Gen [comy?], the 13th Brig, of Ten. do certify that Abner Pearce Birgd Mjr of my Brigad, attended 14 days and drilled at the county drills in said Brig, in the year, 1827 and that he Travled five hundred and fifty miles To and from said County drills in my Brigade. &c. given under my hand &c-
