There is much disappointment caused, by learning that Governor Houston has not as (expected he would) anything, toward Collecting information, from the different states, of their laws & regulations about their schools look at General Howards, Circular, printed in the Republican, a few week's ago, if you would take the trouble to Collect this information, & lay it before the Legislature, you would do for the people, what no other Governour ^of Tennessee has yet done what these will do, who is to be, Icannot say but were these whose situation admits of it, to shew themselves more worthy Ithink the people [paper damaged] them as their work deserved
