Sylvan Hill, Franklin County Feb.y 14th 1800

Sir,

I do myself the pleasure of enclo =sing the Copy of a Joint resolution passed by the Legislature of this State at their late session, on the subject of opening a Communication & laying out a road the nearest & most Convenient route between the two states. You will perceive by the last Clause in the resolution that we are requested to report specially on this subject to the ensuing Legislature, This will afford sufficient time for the commissioners of each state to meet at any given time & place in the course of the summer & discharge this trust, so truly important to the commercial and political interests of each: Not being informed who are the Characters appointed by the State of Tennessee, your Excellency will be pleased to communicate the Contents of this letter
