I John Lavender a Justice of the Peace for the county of Knox do hereby certify that this day Daniel Smith as Elector of the President and Vice President of the United States for this State personally came before me and made oath that as he believes he traveled and has to travel back on that business three hundred and ninety four miles and attended one day besides-

Given under my hand at Knoxville this fourth day of December 1800.
