He arrived on the day the chiefs were convened, delivered my address to them and in and of Mr Cornells produced such a determination on the part of the Chiefs as the state of things required and Ihad demanded; which you will see in the enclosed reports. Ishall continue to watch over the expected movement of our warriors untill they have exe =cuted their orders, and you may expect me near the scene of action as soon as my presence is necessary.
