Dear Sir
I gladly receved your letters by the hands of the Commissioners apointed to vew my road and thank your Eccellenos for the verry friendly disposition ^you manifest towards me, I am likewise glad to find that the honorable general assembly ware Induced to adop proper measures to have my rode vewed and measured and I hope that the result may prove satisfactory to your Eccellenos the general assembly and country of large - I shall give such assitanes to the Commissiones in measuring the Rode as may be Conveniently in my power - I hav don considerabel work on the rode and Intends to do agreat deal more - Shold your Ecellency and the general assembly have reason to continue your friendship and attention to this business I hope that my rood will be of great use to the publick as well as to myself - it is now passibel for waggons and the[y] are passing frequntly I wold [gust?] [?] to your ecellenay that in answer to one of your letters that nothing notwith standing some of my popel are offended with me for the friendship that I shaw to the white popel you may rest assured that I will do every thing for you that is possible for me to in this Cuntry and I hope that the [senceners?] that it will be in my power to do for you will be the means of makeing my own popel happy - I hope you will rite to me when ever Coneinent before I conclude my letter I wish to give your Eccellyncy a little information on another subgect, which is as follows- it is concerning negrowoman and child which belonged to my wifes father Will Shory who died better then a year ago - this property being in the possession of old mr Mc Donald and his wife being only the sister of Will Shorey
