This will be handed you by Mr David Campbell one of the Commissioners, and should there report be favorable you will be pleased to forward on by Sundays mail - Licence for creating the Turnpike

Ihave wrote to the Cheifs of this Nation for their approbation for a stand on the Road, should it not meet their approbation Iconceive the Company authorized to erect the Turnpike where they may deem most proper

Kingston 24th July 1802

Sir Having become the proprietor of Col. A. Outlaws interest in the Turnpike road from Hambleton to Mero District, I am prepairing to do my part of opening the said road agreeable to the act of assembly, and shall set my hands to work next week and am prepared to comply with the requisites of the law, so far as respect =ed Col. Outlaw and not knowing on what terms you get your labourers, the expence [sic] may amount to more than I can have it done for, of course, more than I would be willing to give, I therefore notify you of my willingness & intentions of doing all the law requires

We have now to inform you that we have completed the Cumberland Turnpike Road & wish how soon you will be pleased to appoint the Commisions for [knownig?] [sic] the same - we have no doubt that you will make choice of good & judicious men for the purpose.

To his Excellency The Governor of The State of Tennessee.

We your petitioners respectfully represent to your Excellency that from a statement made by James Trimble and Robert H Adams, Esqr.(who [wear? we are?]] council for James H Hindman in the case where the said Hindman has been convicted of manslaughter,) of the evidence given on the trial, and from a petition sign'd by a number of respectable citizens of the town of Nashville Setting forth the evidence on the trial of the case. we are induc'd to solicit your Excellency to grant him a pardon for that part of punishment yet to be inflicted.
