I Hugh Carter of Greene County do heare -by [sic] Certified that John Cobble of this county - County delivered to me on the first day of September Instant, 1818 a ceartain [sic] Michael Still, which had escaped out of the Jail of said County on the 21st of July Last past which said Cobble stated that he had apprehended said Still in Jefferson County in this state on the 31st August last past being the same man which had Escaped out of the Jail of this County and is advertised a reward of fifty dollars for the apprehention [sic] in the news papers by the proclamation of the Governor of the State of Tennessee Given under my hand 11th day of September 1818

enclosed is a Certificate given by Hugh Carter Sheriff of Greene County for the apprehension of Michael Still, to, John Cobble if you deem it Sufficient evidence you will please forward the Warrant to this place.
