McMinnville July 8th 1819.

Your Excellency will soon be in formed, if not already that Thomas J. Campbell Solicitor General for the fifth solicitorial Circurt has resigned his office. A protempore appointment of a successor will devolve on your Excellency. We have laboured under much disadvantage by having one appointed out of the Circuit I would therefore recommend Nathan Haggard Esq to fill the place of Mr Campbell he lives in about the centre of the circuit He has been frequently appointed by the Courts pro tem in the absence of Mr. Campbell and has given General satisfaction in the performance of the duties of his office

I am with respect your most obedient and humble servant

William Henry Campbell

To his Excellency Gov. McMinn
