My dear Sir,

Thomas J. Campbell Esquire has resigned as Solicitor for the Government of the fifth solicitorial district or Circuit. Mesrs Saml B Moore & Nathan Haggard have said to me they would be applicants for the pro tem appointment. It affords me pleasure to say to you that say to you that, I am acquaint= ed with them both; both in the social circles or relations of life & as lawyers, that either would discharge the functions of the office (in my opinion) well & that the appointment of either would be pleasing to the Courts, & people of the Circuit.

Accept Sir the assurance of my respect & esteem

Howell G. Harris
