We have been informed that James R. M^cmeanes Esq^r has resined the solis =itors appointment of the twelfth dis =trict and as thiere [sic] will be a protem appointment made in said district We would take the liberty of recom =mending to your notice James Scott Esq^r Late a citizen of Columbia. who is a young man of very promising tallents [sic] and unquestionable integrity
