[left column] Rev. Lewis Lewis B. A.
An application was read from the Rev. Lewis Lewis B. A. Ockbrook, England to be admitted to the degree of B. A. ad eundem. The Senate having examined the Calendar of St. David's College, Lampeter, Wales, as also a certificate bearing that Mr. Lewis is a Bachelor of Arts of said College, and having found them and Mr. Lewis' letter satisfactory, unanimously resolved to confer upon him the said degree at the statutory meeting in April.

Prof. Dupuis and Mr. Nicholson were appointed to examine the essays given in for the Thorburn prize.

It was agreed that the prize books for this session be bound by Smith and Patterson provided they will do the work as cheaply as last session

The Senate met and was constituted
Sederunt Principal Grant Professors Mowat and Dupuis and Mr. Fowler.
The minutes of the last meeting held Feb 17th were read and approved.

There was read a letter from William Spankie stating that he had obtained the position of Principal of the Kingston Academy and requesting that on their account he might be allowed to come up to the April exams, without further class attendance. The Senate agreed to comply with Mr. Spankie's request.
[left column] primary medical exam in chemistry
In reply to a Petition from the candidates for the Primary examination in Medicine the Senate decided that they shall be exempted from atendance on the Chemistry class after Monday 14th inst, and that their examination in Chemistry shall be held at the same time as the examinations of the Medical classes.
