My Dears

Reachd here at 9oC & found Br Stewart at 2012 Race St, a long way up town.

Am well & go on at 12oC to-morrow.

Saw Anna [Marie?] before leaving in N.Yk., who wants the stove. I told her she might have it & we would get a larger size—& that the change would be made next week—

I have since thought whether we could not put that old [illegible] in place of the Stewarts—fixed up & made tight—for a while at least. The pot is large & burns strongly—If it shd not do we can then send for the larger size of Stewarts —If it shd do, then it will save us some expence, especially as when we leave the house we may not want any stove. We shd probably about use up the old thing this winter & it can be made to look pretty well— What do you say?—If so the change

My Dears

Could not get to Jersey Cy to do any thing, as I had not the keys—& so did not see Mr. Coles—Things are left just as they were when I came up—The girls will go over in a few days—& see to things, & if need be, have Mr. Hauser carry the stoves up stairs.

I dont see any way clearly, & it is best not to stir till we do, the agt. will fasten the house upon as for another go, after 1st Aug't if he choses—but will probably help us rent it if we wish— A. Maria will write what she does, & what she thinks best. She will perhaps see Mr. Cole, Please write her to do so. Will also find a house in B. if she can—[illegible] if that is best, She will write about staying in Winsted if that is best. I am to be away a good deal this winter, but you be where you will,—am a little weary as you see by my pen—as I was obliged to come on last night

My Dears You had a line from me as I left. I came safely, with some suffering, to H. Hd. Jacksonville & here, & go tonight to Fernandina & Savannah—Am better now. Will be home D.V. soon after 1st Augt—You will I suppose return to the house on the 1st, or then abouts—This, prob-ably is the best plan, unless Anna M. has a house for you in B.lynMr Coles said a man would take the house off our hands on 1st Augt if we wished—Do as you think best. If you are not to be in J City by 1st of the month, please drop a line to Mr Cole saying he must wait a few days until I get home for the rent.

As to money I forgot it for you. Tell Chas. to advance you some, & I will pay him interest on it, ie. if you have no oppor-tunity of sending to N.Yk.

Love & c In health Yours as ever J. W. A
