Mr Speaker and Gentlemen of the House of Representatives

The Senate propose that today at the Hour of two oClock, an election shall take place for a Judge of the Superior Courts of Law and Equity, to sup= =ply the place of Howel Tatom resigned and on their part appoint Edward Douglass — to supperintend [sic] the balloting

The Senate further propose that the persons appointed to superintend the ballot= =ing receive the ballots from the members in their Seats, and review report the result to their respective Houses - and nominate for that appointment Andrew Jackson
