Sir It is expected that the office Register of the mountain District will become vacant by the resingnation [sic] of John A. Minnis Esqr We would most respectfully suggest to your Excelency [sic] that Matthew P. Jared would fill the office with fidellity and utility, and the appointment could be confered [sic] on no one that would give more general satisfaction than Mr. Jared
