Pursuant to a decree of the County Court of Fentress county adjudging that William Crockett Entry Taker for said County has forfeited his Office as Entry Taker as aforesaid, we the citizens of the County of Fentress being well acquainted with William B. Richardson and considering him to be a man of honesty integrity and good moral conduct do recommend said William B. Richardson to ^his Excellency William Carroll the Governor of this State to give him a protempore appoint =ment as Entry Taker as aforesaid agreeably to act of Assembly in such case made and proceeded

Given under Our hands this 21 day of April 1825

Being about to remove from this state, I hearby tender to you my resignation of the office of Entry-taker of Fentress County- I remain with high respect your obt. servt John M. Clemson

P.S. Mr. William B. Richardson (former entry taker) would again accept the office, -so he requests me to say.
