Austin, Texas May 25/46

Hon. Aaron V. Brown

Dear sir, Since the Annexation & admission of Texas into the Union - immigration to this state has increased in such a manner, as to render in not alltogether [sic] improper for your state, to have commissioners residing here, for the purpose of taking acknowledgements of deeds - depositions - - - Being a resident attorney here & having some slight acquaintance with you I beg to offer you my services & for further expence [sic] beg to refer you to Hon. [?] [? [Houston?] - A.J. Donelson - [J.R. Lewis] & [Gov.?] Henderson.

I wrote to you once before, but not having heard from you & knowing the irregularity of our mails - I assume you did not receive my letter.

I have the honor to be with great respect Augustus Fischer
