Christian Circuit [Sct?]
As Clerk of the Court for the Circuit aforesaid I do hereby certify the foregoing to be a true and perfect transcript of an Indictment, found and returned by the Grand Jury, at the late March term of the Circuit Court for the Circuit aforesaid, against John Stewart for Horse stealing.
Given under my hand this 16th day of March 1805.

I Christopher Greenup Governor of the Commonwealth aforesaid do certify to all whom it may concern that James H McLaughlin Gentleman who attests the foregoing copy of an Indictment found by the Grand jury of the Christian Circuit Court against John Stewart for Horse stealing, was at the time of attesting the same and still is clerk of the Circuit court aforesaid, and to whose Certificate and attestations due faith and credit is to be given
In Testimony whereof I have signed these presents and caused the Seal of the said Commonwealth to be thereto affixed at Frankfort this 19th day of April in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and five Christo Greenup

To his Excellency John Sevier Governor of the State of Tenenssee Greeting
Know you, That in pursuance of an act of Congres intitled [sic] "an act respecting Fugitives from Justice, and persons escaping from the Service of their Masters". I have to demand of your Excellency the body of a certain John Stewart a Fugitive from Justice who has been Indicted for Horse Stealing before the Christian Circuit court in this State on which Indictment the Grand Jury has found "a true Bill" and that the said John Stewart has fled to the State of Tennessee, and on the said John Stewarts being arrested and seen red, to inform me thereof and of the place of his Confinement, also to give direction to the person in whose Custody he may be committed to deliver the body of said John Stewart to the agent to be appointed by [one?] on behalf of this State as the said ^acts State directs
Given under my hand and the seal of the Commonwealth aforesaid at Frankfort this nineteenth of April one Thousand eight hundred and five
