Having understood the Legislature at their late Session have authorized your appointing Commissioners to run the boundary line between this state and the state of Virg^a beg leave to present my services to you in that way; and should I be appointed, my best exertions shall be made use of to merit the confidence placed in me

Sir, I respectfully ask to be appointed Commissioner of Tennessee resident in Massachussetts to take depositions and the acknowledgment of deeds &c to be used or recorded in Tennessee.

For evidence of qualifications I refer to my father Hon. James T. Austin late Att^y Gen. of Massachussetts and to the facts that I am a Justice of the Peace for the County of Suffolk and hold the ap pointment of Commissioner from the States of [?], New Hampshire, New York Connecticut, North Carolina, Mississippi Kentucky, Indiana, Virginia, & Ohio.
