Providence, Nov 6, 1847. (R.I.-)

Dear Sir,

Henry Martin Esqr., a worthy citizen of this City, is desirous of being appointed commis-sioner, to take depositions and the acknowledgements of Deeds in this state, to be used in the state of Tennessee.

He is now Public Notary, which office he has held twelve or fifteen years, and he also is a commissioner for ten or twelve States of the Union.

I respectfully recommend Mr. Martin to be a gentleman well qualified for the office, and one whose well established character, will be a guaranty [sic] for a faithful discharge of its duties.
