Blountville February the 23rd 1803.

Sir,

Agreeable to an act of Assembly passed at Knoxville at the last General Assembly, you proceeded to appoint a Mr. John Williams of the town to transcribe the Entry Takers books of Sullivan County. Mr. Williams after getting the books in possession has died without completing the work. Feeling desireous that something should be done respecting this business which is verry [sic] important to a great number of the citizens of this Country have thought proper to communicate this information to your excellency, that you may as in your descretion you may think proper. The books are now in the possession of Mary McCoury adminestratiea [sic] of Mr. Williams.
