Gallatin Nov 13th 1849

To the Governor of Tennessee

Dear Sir

from the enclosed you will find a Letter addressed to your Excellency by my friend Mr C. Logan of Louisville Kentucky asking [?] [given?] [?] the appointment of Commissioner of Deeds &c from my acquaintance with Mr Logan I [?] him as being a good Lawyer, & as a highminded honorable Gentleman. Every Way worthy to receive such appointment, and would like if you could [consistently?], confer uppon [sic] him that appointment,

We are getting along in the usual way in old Summer, the health of our county are very good at Present, give my respect to your family to Col. S. A. Anderson & family with all my [?] friends in the city of Nashville,
