The petitions of the under signed humbly- show-

That Wm Peterson a Youth about the age of Nineteen Yearshas at the present Term of the Circuit Court of Claiborne County been convicted of grand Larcency - and is under sentence to recieve twenty Lashes - Your petitioner [show?] that said Pe= tersan has served in the army on the Campaign against the Creek Indians With fidellity [sic] And Gallantry - We think him entitled to Executive Clemency -
