Shelbyville March 5th 1827.

Govenor Carroll

Sir

should you feel disposed to give Mr. Martin the appointment of Atto General for this District (which I hope you will) there will be a vacency [sic] in this County for Entery [sic] taker and it may be important to some of the Citizens of this County, to have it filld imediately. I have therfore [sic] taken the liberty this early to address you in behalf of my friend Capt. James R. White of this place who is in every respect well qualified to discharge the duties of the office; for further particulars I refer you to my friend Mr. Martin, &c.

with sentimts [sic] of high rigard [sic] I am very respectfully your Friend A. Gill
