Shelbyville 5th of March 1827

To his excellency William Carroll

Permit me to inform you that in the event that Abraham Martin should be appointed Solicitor for this district in the room of Mr. Fulton resigned James R White of this place would willingly accept the appointment of Entry Taker for this County he is a young man well qualified to fill the appointment and I would be glad if you think it right you could confer the appointment upon him as he is a worthy man - your friend and humble servant

To his Excellency Wm Carrol

Sir. We are informed that the office of Enter taker is vacant occasioned by the Pro tem solicitor appointment of Abram Martin Esquire, and we take a pleasure to recommend to your notice James Walker of this County as an applicant, who is altogether qualified to attend to the duties of the office and is a worthy respectable citizen.
