Dear Sir

Permit me to recommend John O. Cannon as a fit Person to fill the Vacansy [sic] Occasioned by the death of John Wilkison late attorny [sic] General for the district Composed of the Counties of Monroe Blount Sevier & Jefferson John O. Cannon is my son in law he wrote in the Treasury Office some years for me I can Clearly say he is a young man of strict morrel [sic]
