To Vanda coerulea Charlesworthii (votes, unanimous), from Messrs. Charlesworth, Hayward's Heath. A true albino, the flowers being pure white, without a trace of colour. (Fig. 127.)

Award of Merit.

To Laelio-Cattleya × 'Lustre' gigantea (C. Luddemanniana × L.-C. callistoglossa) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut.-Col. G. L. Holford, C.I.E., C.V.O., Westonbirt (gr. Mr. H. G. Alexander). Plant dwarf; flower large and of firm substance; sepals and petals white, tinged and mottled with rose; lip large, claret-purple, lighter towards the front.

To Laelio-Cattleya × 'Ortrude' superba (L. anceps × C. Dowiana aurea) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut.-Col. G. L. Holford. A showy flower with cream-white sepals and petals, tinged with rose, and ruby-red lip with golden lines from the base.

To Brasso-Cattleya × 'Madame Hye' superba (B. Digbyana × C. Harrisoniana) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut.-Col. G. L. Holford. A finely formed flower, white tinged with lilac.

To Brasso-Cattleya × Digbyano-Mossiae 'Queen Alexandra,' Glenthorne variety (B. Digbyana × C. Mossiae Wageneri) (votes, unanimous), from Messrs. Wilson, Hayward's Heath. A large pure-white flower of fine shape.

Botanical Certificate.

To Saccolabium dasypogon, from Sir Trevor Lawrence, Bart. (gr. Mr. W. H. White). A dwarf species with short clusters of yellow flowers and white bearded lip.

To Masdevallia Ortgiesiana, from Sir Trevor Lawrence, Bart. A tufted plant with flowers an inch long on slender scapes, white with purple stripes.

Award of Merit.

To Dendrobium Coelogyne striatum (votes, unanimous), from Mr. H. A. Tracy, Twickenham. Flowers yellow, striped with claret-red; lip blackish-purple. (Fig. 131.)

Cultural Commendation.

To Mr. Hunter, gr. to his Grace the Duke of Marlborough, for Vanda coerulea, with four spikes of flowers.

To Mr. H. Ballantine, gr. to Sir H. Schröder, for Cypripedium insigne Sanderianum with ten flowers.

To Vanda Sanderiana 'Chillingham variety' (votes, unanimous), from the Right Hon. the Earl of Tankerville, Chillingham Castle, Northumberland (gr. Mr. Hunter). Flowers large and nearly circular, light rose on the upper half, and beautifully tinged and veined with reddish-purple on the lower part.

To Odontoglossum × Smithii (Rossii rubescens × crispo-Harryanum) (votes, unanimous), from Messrs. Charlesworth. A charming hybrid with flowers of good size. Sepals and petals white in the middle, banded and tipped with rose-purple and evenly spotted with chocolate-purple. Lip elongated and slightly twisted, rose-purple, with a yellow crest on a white base. (Fig. 63.)

To Lælio-Cattleya × Epicasta 'Gatton Park variety' (C. Warscewiczii × L. pumila præstans) (votes, unanimous), from Jeremiah Coleman, Esq., Gatton Park (gr. Mr. Bound). Flower equal in size to Cattleya Mendelii and of fine form. Sepals and petals blush-white, with a slight yellowish tinge at the margin. Lip purplish-crimson in front, pale yellow at the base.

To Laeliocattleya × 'Barbarossa,' Westonbirt variety (C. Trianaei 'Imperator' × L.-c. × callistoglossa) (votes, 14 for, 1 against), from Lieut-Col. G. L. Holford. Resembling L.-c. × callistoglossa ignescens, but of thicker substance. Sepals and petals magenta-rose; lip ruby-red with a yellow disc.

To Cypripedium × Boltonii (parentage unknown) (votes, unanimous), From W. Bolton, Esq. In form nearest to C. × 'Venus,' but larger; pure white with a few minute blackish dots at the base of the dorsal sepal. (Fig. 159.)

To Cirrhopetalum longissimum (votes, unanimous), from Sir Trevor Lawrence, Bart., K.C.V.O. A very remarkable species, said to have been imported from Siam. The slender scape bore at the apex, a very short raceme of seven flowers drooping almost in an umbel. The flowers, which were nearly nine inches in length, were white with rose-coloured lines. (Fig. 160.)

Award of Merit.

Cattleya × 'Dirce' superba (× 'Vulcan' × Warscewiczii) (votes, unanimous), from Lieut-Col. G. L. Holford, C.I.E., C.V.O. (gr. Mr. H. G. Alexander). Flowers deep rosy-mauve, the lip being the darker.

To Zygocolax × Charlesworthii (Z. × Perrenoudii × C. jugosus) (votes, 15 for, 1 against), from Messrs. Charlesworth. Sepalas and petals cream-white, closely barred with chocolate purple. Lip violet with white margin.

Botanical Certificate.

To Bulbophyllum hirtum, from Mr. Gurney Wilson, Haywards Heath. A small Burmese species with a pendulous raceme of small white hairy flowers.

Other Exhibits.
