99 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE. July 20th, '82 Councilmen for the Second Ward Chas McDonald John Collins Fred Gash Councilmen for the Third Ward O. F. Casper G. L. Manning Ordered that the Council now stand adjourned until July, 28th, 1882 Attest: E S. Osborne, Clerk Approved L. P. Smith, Mayor July 28th, '82 Be it remembered that on this the 28th day of July, 1882 The Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in it's Council Chamber pursuant to adjournment. The following Officers are present, to wit: His Honor the Mayor L. P. Smith and CouncilmenJohn Collins, M. Densmore, Wm A. Jennings, John Keenan, & Charles McDonald. Thereupon the following proceedings are had; A petition is received from John J McGilvra & Others praying for a sidewalk on the Street Between Cherry & Madison Streets Referred to the Street Committee. A petition is received from G. C. Phinney praying for the right to clear in Pine & 9th Streets of C.C. Terry's plat; Thereupon the same is laid over. A petition is received from Jacob Brunn regarding property on West street. Refered to Street Committee. And now the Finance Committee returns the report of the City Justice with their approval of the same. Report filed. The Street Comtee returns the petition of G. M. Bowman et al for the opening of Battery Street with recommendation that the same be granted. Thereupon the prayer of the petition is granted. And now come Frank Peters and Wm Grose and make their several applications & Bonds for retail liquor licenses for the period of 3 months from the dates Aug 10 & Aug 1st, respectively. Whereupon said Bonds are approved & said applicants making due
