They dealt more with techniques than with technical details. READING CHAP 12 [yellow highlight] was one of the most informative letting me know what's important to success in animation. As I stated in "Strategy for the Second Half of 89". Its a very similar situation to what I felt in trying to be musically expressive. [yellow highlight] 5:00 Go to Irvine for frozen yogurt. Irvine seems so long ago, and so primative to what I am now. Ugh. Back to Red Lion. Finish chap 12, and write up this afternoon. 6:30 Relax. Call Schuab recording DOW+ 186. Change to eans + flannel shirt. Realize I'm tired of reading technical books [yellow highlight] and if I do any more such stuff, it should be in the form of a tutoria, ala Prolog. [black ink] KEY As when I finished Algorithmic Image a year ago, I sense a lack of desire to do Animation Work, just because it uses a computer is no reason to work on it. I wouldn't be interested in animation otherwise. [yellow highlight][boxed in red ink] 7:00 Out to dinner at Wendys. Look for movie, but end up just driving around a lot. Got Gas. So I saw all of O.C.'s memories the ones I used to live in, not just Laguna Beach.Decide not to go see Glen Cram. Not that good a friend- jealousy. Uncomfortable around him, looks, clothes + pradishness +haircut + zits (my). It's not something I want [underline] to do. At Studio 1: "Come down + we can comiserate together" about not having boyfriends. "Come down + help no plant palm trees". Not much interest in talking with me. Awkward the last time. 9:00 Watch news + some "Singing in rain". 9:30 Relax 10:00 Read Chap 14 of "Animation" Future. Shower. 11:00 This trip to OC I have spent weekdays [underline] (nonholiday) for first time in the last six years. It's pleasant, but a little too [underline] quiet. No gay gyms. It was [underline] appropriate in 80 + 81. But not anymore. [yellow highlight] And Glen lives here now. Also now that, I've done app interface for Works, I won't program [underline] anything more like it.

10:15 Very hard to leave not having found Glens street but feeling that I've experienced it having seen the style, I left and drove North! But something bugged me so I got off at exist and got a place to phone Glenn, but just got his recorder. Found a station to relieve myself, and found my way back to freeway. At least I wanted a map of Irvine so I drove back to Magnolia Blvd, and got one but still no "Serana" so I called 411, and its spelt "Sarena" and still no such place on map. Oh well, drive up to airport. (Considered going to gym in W. Hollywood, getting hotel, getting sweater from Pat Coil, seeing Dan Ireland, but not of it turned my crank.) Great rain storm. No view, but that's probably just as well.

12:00 I really didn't know what I wanted to do but I exited at Airport, and called UAL and found that plane had been delayed coming in from Seattle. So I raced to return my car, get on Hertz Bus, which had to drop people all over LAX before UAL, last stop. But I eventually got on the flight

12:45 And getting on felt relief. Just made it. But I didn't see

Glenn - for reasons given last night. O.C. bored me so much, I couldn't get passed my low need to see him.

Dan Ireland - but I never managed to get together when he lived in Seattle. Probably should've called on Saturday.

Tom Low - just some cute guy I met at Body N, had nice lunch, and J/O with

I felt like it was time to go home having spent 3 days in LA-Redondo and 2 days in Orange County. The time was worth going through the feelings, although they were pretty much old hat.

Got lunch just in time - starving. Finished reading "Computer Animation" by reading "Looking Backward," and saw my lack of interest in non-computer animation once again. I just can't draw people + animals well. (Felt it was time to check in at Microsoft.)

Go over to Frontier Land Hall of Presidents. So so.

Go on Thunder Mtn just like Disneyland.

Had lemonade popsicle. Great idea!

Can't believe Mom + Dad went on Thunder Mtn.

Then down Main Street to shop for the kids. And see Walt Disney Story. He was a cartoonist. Cute too, young.

Saw tail end of parade, not so hot.

3:30 Go to Epcot and check Lost + Found. Then walk counter clockwise through World Showcase. Only 3 attractions. France (great), American Adventure (great technology, tired theme), China (didn't see). Beer + apple strudel at Germa place. All the rest of world showcase is a shopping mall with restaurants + shops. Well I guess MExico has an "attraction" too. And there are some exhibits but they wouldn't interest me in that crowded env't. And so I suppose most of Expo would have been uninteresting to me, the World's exhibits.

6:00 Had to get back to Main Terminal Lost and found by 7:00 so skipped China, and as I was riding Monorail back to Main Terminal, it started to rain. So I won't get to see

China

Universe of Energy - Exxon

The Land, or

Captain EO (Again)

GM Motion (Again)

But I can see EO again at Disney Land. And at least I saw GM once, and if I return it will be fun to see again someday.

6:45 Still no sunglasses. Still raining, so I decide to drive to Lake Buena Vista to see the Club Lake Villas + Vacation Villas. It looks very Irvine over there. Small trees and artificial-looking lake. Tree house, villas didn't look like much. Then I had lasagna + rose at Ho Jo Hotel. Drove over to Contemporary Resort. Odd with Monorail going thru Buffeteria. And it's not very tastefully styled concrete. And too much use of florescent lighting. But its on the lake + has mini power boats, a sandy beach, and docks. Garden Wings may be good place to stay
