Gen. Turney gave them a certain time to take their arms again or he said he would have three Reg. march their & have every “d__ son of a b__ of them shot.” I believe they have returned to their loyal position as good soldiers.

Friday July 11. Nothing new.

Saturday 12. A black boy whom some of the boys had hired to cook for them proved a runaway & was taken by his master. Reported for duty again.

Sunday, July 13. A mulatto who said he was a white man had enlisted in Capt. Langfords comp. This morning he was identified & taken back. Nothing in the papers of any consequence.
