Miscellaneous A communication is rec'd from the Board of fire Delegates announcing that Danl McKen had been elected Chief of the Fire Department, thereupon said appointment is approved Ordered that a Comtee to wit: Councilmen Latimer, Yesler, Snyder, Harrington, His Honor the Mayor by & is hereby appointed to examine into the troubles in the Fire Department. Ordered that the matter of a salary for the chief of the Fire Department is hereby referred to the fire Comtee. Any now by reason of S B Vrooman ceasing to be a Justice of the Peace in Jan 5, 1885, the Council proceeds to an election to fill the vacancy thereto exist in the offices of City Justice.
