Slept till nearly 8. Plumber came at 9 but could do little to back up outdated parts for toilet and wash-stand; old hand will be here Monday morning presumably with replacement parts! Gwyn read Cox article in Southern Review. Then I packaged and took it to post office for mailing to bob Loomis, who will get it Xeroxed and returned to me- my only copy. Mail cost $2.40 first-class. Before going to NY I sent a check to LSU for Gwyn’s subscription to the review beginning with the current issue.) Record high for the day: 96 degrees.
